Countertop Laser Templating

This can be done with a laser referred to as digital templating or with strips of wood or coroplast corrugated plastic referred to as traditional templating.

Elaser xpress 2d system is used primarily for countertop templating. The lt 2d3d laser templator significantly increases the efficiency accuracy and speed of templating. Typically the fabricators will visit your home and make a template of your new countertop.

For simple jobs like countertops it functions just like the lt 55 xl does. Countertop fabricators were the first industry to see the value that digital templating with our lasers could do for their business. The digital method involves using a portable computer to record measurements collected from a laser. Once we introduced the lt 55 xl and then the lt 2d3d models for the first time ever a templator was able to complete jobs on site email them back to the office and head to the next job.

This video shows how to accurately measure an ordinary residential kitchen countertop that will be remodeled with either a granite stone or marble counterto. By the time they arrived at their next job the fabrication shop already assigned the tool paths placed the granite slab on their cnc waterjet fab center and was cutting it. Without a template the fabricator would not have an accurate idea of the exact shape and measurements the countertop requires. Those are digital and stick.
