For the meter in the photographs above the label states 1000 imp kwh so the led will flash 1000 times per unit of electricity. One seems to do nothing not. Why is my electricity meter flashing red. Last month my electric supplier got siemens in to fit a new electric meter.

Previously it was green. It s completely normal for there to be a flashing red light on your meter. It s happening beside the 3 letters han. If a constant 1000w 1kw is going through the meter then in one hour 3600 seconds the led will flash 1000 times so the led will flash once every 3600 1000 3 6 seconds.

Pressing a button on the main panel should revive the screen display. The guy removed the old meter which was a big black box with revolving digital readout and replaced it with a cute dinky one that has an lcd digital readout. In fact the light shows that energy is being used and sometimes it will flash faster if there is more energy being used. We can use that value of 1000 to estimate the power.

With a constant 3000w 3kw going. Meters can go into sleep mode and seem to have no display.
